MAURITANIE À VÉLO
UNE ROUTE AU MILIEU DU DÉSERT DE MAURITANIE.
La République islamique de Mauritanie constitue le passage entre l'Afrique du Nord et l'Afrique noire. Une transition vers un nouveau dépaysement.
En Mauritanie à peine près de 3000 km de routes sont goudronnées sur un réseau de plus de 10 000 km. Progressivement, le pays se dote d'un réseau de routes nationales goudronnées reliant la capitale Nouakchott aux principales villes du pays. La route que vous voyez ici, la RN3 longue de 470 km, a été terminée en novembre 2005, lors de notre passage. Elle relie Nouakchott à Nouâdhibou.
En ces terres ensablées, où l'eau est une denrée rare, vivent environ deux habitants par kilomètres carrés; les Maures. Des êtres d'une grande richesse d'âme, de cœur et d'esprit.

LA MAURITANIE, LE DÉBUT D'UN TEMPS NOUVEAU.
L'Afrique noire, aussi intriguante qu'inquiétante, se dévoile finalement à nous. Un apprentissage que nous enrichirons au fil des rencontres avec les différents peuples que nous croiserons sur notre route.
Ici, à Nouadhibou, déjà la ville déborde d'énergie. Les pêcheurs s'activent, les femmes aussi. Notre voyage vient de prendre un autre tournant. La tranquilité désertique fait place à un chaos constant et à une joie de vivre spontanée.

TOUT LE MAL QU'ON TE FAIT.
Ici, en Mauritanie, certaines riches compagnies navales viennent faire échouer leurs vieux navires. Pourquoi? Simplement car il est excessivement cher de les déconstruire. Donc, pour éviter ces frais elles laissent leurs épaves dans l'Océan Atlantique, là où elles espèrent se faire oublier.
Est-ce ces mêmes polluantes compagnies qui pour bien paraître construisent des bâtiments Leed pour leurs bureaux administratifs? Tant mieux si c'est le cas, mais ne devraient-elles pas débuter par accepter le fait qu'il y a un prix à payer pour sauver notre planète et ce n'est certainement pas de laisser se décomposer leurs beaux bâteaux.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
This project is mostly about a passion.
A passion that kept us awake for many nights and that we're finally able to fullfill: live outside; be in contact with the nature; discover a world that is different from what we are used to; listen to people that have another point of view and have plenty of time to seek for the illumination.
And we believe we can do that without burning oil, without impacting the planet, without working, without watching any show.
